Beach Party and GPS Scavenger Hunt. All schools are expected to participate in both Sunday events so plan to bring one GPS device (iPhone, etc) for every 8 participants. The GPS Scavenger Hunt will be on the beach and is a rain or shine event so bring appropriate rain gear. Towels will be provided if necessary. Back at the hotel, the party will continue with music by DJ Tom Staab (technology teacher) and food. Prizes will be awarded for GPS Scavenger Hunt winners!
Competitive Events Day. The main focus on Monday is the competitive events. Most events start with an early morning meeting with the contest coordinator who will introduce the problem and answer questions. Be sure to follow the conference program for specific times and meeting places. We want to encourage schools to participate in as many events as possible. A new student designed event as well as a new K-5 STEM competition for K-5 students only is being planned.
Job Fair. Student will have an opportunity on Monday during the noon hour to visit the Job Fair and talk with teacher recruiters. Most events will take a required noon hour break to encourage participants to visit the fair and get some nourishment for the afternoon push to finish your challenge.

Formal Banquet. This is a tradition at TECA East. Student and faculty dress up for the formal banquet. Men typically wear shirts and ties while women select professional top with slacks, skirts or dresses. A guest speaker will have a short inspirational message for aspiring young professional.
Student Presentation. Tuesday has been restructured to allow greater student participation. A stadium viewing area is being planned with video projectors for student presentations of contests. We plan to have all contest material viewable in the stadium area. Breakfast items will be available during the presentation hour.
Awards Luncheon. Another tradition is the awards luncheon. All winners will be announced and plaques awarded. All communication contest videos will be shown. The luncheon will be from 11:00 – 12 noon allowing our more distant schools to get on the road home earlier.
